Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, generating wind gusts hitting 109 kilometers per hour.

Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
